UNIFORM 

— Footwear —
• Closed Toe, comfortable shoes that are easy to remove
• No high heels or platforms

— Bottoms —
Acceptable colors:
• Black
• Tan / Khaki
• Gray
• Navy
• Uniform style dress pants or dress shorts
• Capri Pants
• Cargo shorts
• Tennis skirts -regular or pleated

**UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS**
 DO NOT WEAR:
• Denim/jeans
• Prints or patterns for bottoms
• Athletic wear / warm-up pants
• yoga/bicycle or other overly tight shorts or pants.

— Tops / Shirts —
• Yellow Hero’s Polo

— Cool / Cold Weather —
• Hero’s Logo Sweatshirt or Jacket
• Yellow or brightly colored jacket or sweatshirt – UNBRANDED
• Coat, if needed, can be worn.

— Hats & Headgear —
• ALL headgear must be worn PROPERLY at all times:
• Bills must face forward
• Hats must be level with the ears
• No covering the eyes or face
• No visible hair above the forehead

 Acceptable styles of hat are limited to:
• Ascot cap
• Baseball cap
• Boonie hat
• Bucket hat
• Chullo
• Flat cap
• Newsboy cap

— Professional Appearance —
• Dress casual style (semi-professional / business casual)

**UNACCEPTABLE APPEARANCE**
DO NOT:
• Wear anything torn, stained, or improperly fitting
• Wear shirts or tops that are partially tucked in
• Wear any item of clothing that a parent could deem offensive
• Wear excess jewelry, makeup, or scents
• Wear any item that can catch or entangle in a ride or game

Failure to adhere to uniform / dress code guidelines may result in 1/2 point per infraction (multiple infractions may be present in a single event). Please plan and dress appropriately for work!!

GETTING PAID

— Pay Periods & Pay Dates —
• Pay periods are 2 weeks long, beginning on Monday, and ending the following Sunday
• Pay date is the Tuesday of the week after the pay period ends
• EXAMPLE:
• Pay period beginning on Mon. Jan. 1 ends on Sun. Jan. 14.
• Pay date for this period is Tuesday, January 23

— Paychecks and Direct Deposit —
• Direct deposit will occur on or before pay date
• All employees are required to establish direct deposit.
• If direct deposit is not setup when payroll is run, pay will be held until the following pay period


EXPECTATIONS AT EVENTS

— Professional Conduct —
• At no point should any Hero’s Employee act in a way that can be considered, especially by a customer, to be unprofessional
• No use of tobacco products, vulgar language, or inappropriate behavior around children will be tolerated
• Failure to act in a professional manner may result in 2 points toward disciplinary action

— Situational Safety & Customer Conduct —
• EVERY Hero’s employee is a safety attendant at all times
• Failure to report or act upon an unsafe situation may result in 3 points toward disciplinary action

— Attentiveness —
• Hero’s employees are expected to be attentive at all times
• Failure to identify a problematic situation that results in a safety incident may result in immediate termination
• Negligence on the part of a Hero’s employee resulting in a safety incident waives that employees protection from civil and criminal liability

— Team Communications —
• If there is a “Lead” on assigned to an event, that person is to be the initial point of contact between each employee and upper management
• Each employee is expected to report any and all situations that may result in an unsafe or inoperable piece of equipment, or any situation that results in an inability to perform job duties in a satisfactory manner
• Failure to properly utilize the chain of command or failure to report incidents and/ or situations may result in 1.5 points toward disciplinary action


SCHEDULING & TIME OFF

— Mandatory Shifts —
• A shift is mandatory if assigned, or if selected by the employee from OpenShift status
• A mandatory shift must be confirmed (if assigned) in the scheduling application within 24 hours of assignment
• Failure to confirm a shift within one day of notice may result in 1/2 point toward disciplinary action
• Failure to arrive at a mandatory shift without prior communication (“no call, no show”) may result in 3 points toward disciplinary action.

— Time Off Requests —
• See: Availability & Conflicts (below)

— Availability & Conflicts —
• All employees are required to keep their availability updated in real time.
• All changes to availability must be entered into the scheduling system 7 or more days in advance of any conflict or preference
• Failure to update availability that results in an employee needing to drop a shift may result in 1 full point toward disciplinary action
• Failure to communicate conflicts, schedule changes, or other non-emergency reasons for missing work may result in 1 full point toward disciplinary action


EMPLOYEE MISCONDUCT & DISCIPLINE

— Immediate Termination —
• Accumulation of 3 or more points in less than 24 hours
• Blatant disregard for child safety, or refusal to follow instruction by a lead or manager
• Displaying, or participating in any activity, action, discourse, or other form of expression that jeopardizes the reputation or good standing of Hero’s Party Experience in the community.

— Suspension Until Review —
• Accumulation of 3 or more points in less than 7 days
• Any activity listed in above section that a manager may deem “less of a violation” than that which requires immediate termination

— Counseling Session & Discussion —
• Accumulation of 3 or more points in less than 21 days
• Any activity listed in above sections that a manager may deem “less of a violation” than that which requires suspension or termination.

— On-The-Spot Correction —
• Any activity, action, or task which a manager identifies as needing improvement
• Any safety issue, regardless of level of seriousness, may be addressed by any member of the Hero’s staff or crew

— Employee Rights, Appeals, & Policy Disagreements —
• Employees will be notified if they have accumulated any points toward disciplinary action within a reasonable timeframe
• Employees have the right to appeal, in a face-to-face meeting, any disciplinary decision.
• Appeals must be requested in writing
• All appeal requests must be made within 14 days of disciplinary action in order to be considered
